Philosophy of Making
CraftTo make is to act upon what one has seen. We have seen the seeds nestled in a split pea pod, the indigo of shibori fabric blooming in sunlight, the grain of a nutshell tracing a cat's face — and then we set to work, turning these 'sightings' into objects that can be touched.
498 products—not a number of 150 SKUs, but 150 ways of conversing with nature. Some products took five years to develop; some were born of an afternoon's inspiration. What they share is this: with our hands, we let the stories of plants continue.
Signature IP · Pod Fairy
WabiNian's most recognizable original IP. Using Yunnan legume pods as the body, adorned with preserved and dried botanicals, each Pod Fairy is handcrafted into a unique plant spirit.
Every Pod Fairy is one of a kind, shaped by the natural form of its pod. The curve of the pod sets its posture, the arrangement of seeds defines its expression, and the hue of the preserved flowers gives it character. We never use molds — each one is sculpted entirely by hand from scratch.
The Pod Fairy sparked a sensation at the Shenzhen Cultural Expo, drawing over 1,000 visitors to pause and engage within four hours. What moves people is that it was not 'designed' but 'discovered' — a pod already resembles a little figure; we simply helped it reveal itself.

Our self-developed preservation technology treats flowers at their peak bloom through dehydration, decolorization, dyeing, and drying, keeping petals soft to the touch with natural hues. The stabilized colors can last for years, making this our core wholesale product line.
Two color systems run in parallel: European-American vintage tones (low-saturation dark red, burgundy, caramel, sage green, deep brown) and Japanese-Korean macaron tones (high-brightness, low-saturation pink, blue, yellow, green, purple), suited to different spatial styles and client aesthetics.
Using fresh-cut Yunnan flowers, we employ a natural hanging-drying process that preserves each plant's original form and color. Dried flowers carry a more rustic texture than preserved blooms, ideal for natural and country-style spaces.
Our range spans dozens of materials including forget-me-nots, baby's breath, eucalyptus, pampas grass, and bunny tails, crafted into bouquets, wreaths, wall hangings, and floral installations.
The thousand-year-old Bai tie-dye craft meets preserved floral artistry, with blue-and-white gradient dyed fabric as the base and preserved blooms forming dimensional compositions. Each tie-dye cloth bears irreplicable natural patterns, making every piece a one-of-a-kind artwork.

The Yunnan tile cat is a traditional guardian beast believed to protect homes, traditionally fired from clay. We replace clay with plant husks, giving this folk symbol a natural texture and warmth. Each husk's form determines the cat's expression.
Materials include macadamia husks, pinecone scales, walnut shells, acorn caps, and more, accented with dried flowers and plant fibers. Each cat is unique and irreproducible.
Palm leaves are woven into Yunnan's distinctive insect forms — mantises, butterflies, beetles, dragonflies, and cicadas. Each piece is lifelike, blending traditional weaving techniques with natural observation, giving palm leaves the spirit of insects.
Palm leaves are selected, softened, woven, shaped, and treated for preservation, allowing long-term display. Suitable as tabletop pieces, wall hangings, or lamp accessories.
Using Yunnan's distinctive flowers, leaves, seeds, and roots, each piece is pressed, dried, and shaped through professional botanical specimen techniques, then sealed within transparent materials. Every work is a natural X-ray—revealing the intricate veins of plants in exquisite detail.

Color Systems
WabiNian preserved flowers feature two parallel color systems, each corresponding to distinct aesthetic traditions and market needs.
Low-saturation deep red, burgundy, caramel, gray-green, and dark brown. Inspired by the floral palettes of European classical still-life paintings — petal edges faintly browned, colors settled and restrained.
High-brightness, low-saturation pinks, blues, yellows, greens, and purples. Inspired by the soft frosting tones of macarons—light, sweet, yet never cloying.
Craftsmanship
The convergence of traditional intangible heritage techniques and modern color-preservation technology is the methodology behind WabiNian's creations.
Dali Bai tie-dye uses indigo root as the dye, creating blue-and-white patterns through stitching, binding, immersion, and unstitching. Each fabric's pattern is uniquely determined by the dye, the cloth, time, and temperature—impossible to replicate.
At the peak of bloom, flowers undergo dehydration, decolorization, dyeing, and drying to retain their soft texture and natural hues. The stabilized colors can last for years.
Using palm leaves as the material, hand-woven after selection and softening. Can be shaped into insects, animals, ornaments, and more. The weaving technique originates from folk straw-weaving traditions, refined for greater precision and durability.
Professional botanical specimen pressing and sealing techniques freeze the veins, form, and color of plants permanently within transparent mediums. Both a scientific record and an artistic expression.
